Free Valuations at The Castle Hotel, Taunton...
2nd January 2025
Lawrences Auctioneers in Crewkerne continues to be a popular choice for collectors looking to sell their prized lots.
The Taunton Valuation mornings at the Castle Hotel have continued to be a popular event. Held from 9am - 11.30am on the first and third Friday of each month, these free valuation mornings feature a General Valuer and a Jewellery Expert to assist with appraisals.
“There are always conversations to be had, and it’s genuinely interesting to talk to clients about what they’ve inherited or found tucked away in a drawer,” says Lawrences specialist Simon Jones. “Many consignors receive unexpected good news; don’t base your assumptions on what you may find online, as a specialist’s trained and experienced eye can assess the subtle differences that ensure an accurate evaluation.”
“Family heirlooms are often loaded with sentiment and expectation,” he adds. “We aim to be informative, supportive, and constructive, no matter your needs. Never hesitate to ask for advice; we all genuinely enjoy seeing what our clients own, and we have many very eager collectors if you wish to sell something.”
A recent valuation morning saw a contemporary bronze by Jonathan Wylder, valued at £1000-1500, to be offered in Lawrences’ Winter Fine Art auction in Crewkerne (January 14th & 15th). The auction, which spans two days, includes a diverse selection of fine silver, pictures, collectors’ items, decorative arts & ceramics, jewellery & watches, clocks, furniture, and carpets.
Whether you want to sell diamonds or Dinky toys, Meissen and mezzotints, or toy trains and tribal art, our team of specialists at Lawrences in the beautiful West Country can help.
