A GERMAN BLADED HUNTING STYLE HANGER.
With a 64cm slightly curved, pointed and fullered blade decoratively engraved to both sides, marked 'Me Fecit Solingen' to either side, the handle with a lion's head pommel linked to the front Quillon by a chain, with a wired ebony grip, with a silver crossguard with London hallmarks for 1779/80 and William Kinman. In a later leather scabbard with twin ring suspension. Swords of this type were often carried Naval Officers in the American Revolutionary War. 81cm overall.
