Resolution, 50mm long, accompanied by a late 18th century note, 'A chip of the ship Resolution, which carried Captain Cook round the world - cut from a block belonging to Mr Monkhouse - which he had procured of what now remains of her in Newport harbour island - her hull... at sea, 2nd July 1799', together with a copy of Cook's Voyages, volumes 1-2 only, Newcastle, 1790 (2)
