A GREAT WAR CASUALTY GROUP OF THREE.
A group of three comprising 1914 Star with '5th Aug - 22nd Nov' clasp named to 6778 Pte. J. Turnbull 5/Sco. Rif. War and Victory Medals named to 6778 A. Cpl J. Turnbull Sco. Rif. John Turnbull, Private in the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) is recorded as being wounded on three separate occasions. On 26th April 1915 he suffered a gun shot would to the head, being discharged from hospital on 6th May 2015. On the 6th of September he was again on the casualty list, and for a third time on 11th October of the same year he suffered 'Gas Poisoning'. He was entitled to a wound stripe.
