A FAMILY GROUP OF SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY AND KOYLI GREAT WAR AND LATER MEDALS.
A casualty group of three comprising a First World War Pair named to 19977 Private E.T. Martin, Somerset Light Infantry and an Imperial Service Medal in case of issue named to Evelyn Timothy Martin. Martin, born in 1890 was discharged from service after nearly two years following a wound to his left thigh received whilst fighting at Beaumont Hamel on August 1st 1916, the wound was sufficient to end his service with the character reference 'Honest, sober and reliable...', with Silver Discharge Badge and accompanying literature. A general service medal with Malaya clasp to 22327169 J 'Swede' Martin King's Own Yorkshire light Infantry. With a quantity of badges, a beret and other items including a card inscribed 'A Somerset man by birth but a good K.O.Y.L.I. comrade at heart'.
