CASED COURT DRESS & SWORD HAT, etc.
A Japanned tin case containing the formal dress of two generations of the same family. Shoes and cased buckles, matching the dress buttons and formal hats. Lace cuffs and Velvet in very good condition are the materials used to make the Coatee, breeches etc. The tin has a brass label, inscribed R L Hurst.
Colonel Richard Lumley Hurst was a Barrister and the son of Sir Cecil Hurst KCB, GCMG. (Born 28/10/1870 who died 27/3/1963) His Portrait hangs in Horsham Museum. He spent much of his Legal Career, as President in the Hague. See Who Was Who.
Colonel R L Hurst 4th Battalion R Sussex Regt TA, born in 1904 he died in 1962.

A Court Sword with 32" rapier shape blade, plated hilt with pierced oval guard and attached guard chain. Complete with its black leather and plated mounts scabbard, also outer carrycase.
