SCRATCH BUILT LOCOMOTIVE - ATLAS, 1913
a wonderful wooden model of a 0-6-0 industrial style tank engine Atlas, with some metal components and metal wheels. With an original letter from the maker (R M Ashworth) to the recipient of the model in 1913, Dear John, I have today forwarded Christopher's Engine which I hope will arrive safe and sound. I hope that it will last a very long time and be a joy to the laddie. Also with two photograph postcards of the engine, also dated 1913 and with writing on from the maker to the father and son. Still with its original packing case with the recipients name and address on. Locomotive 83cms long
*The locomotive was sent to J D Whittaker, and the recipient was his son R C C Whittaker.
