LARGE COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE SWEET MAKING MOULDS
a fascinating collection including large trays made by the The Confectioners Vegetable Colours & Fruit Essences Company Ltd, and a wide variety of other metal shaped sweet moulds including Fish shapes and others, trays, and 2 brass thermometers.
*This collection was owned by a Victorian lady, Miss Annie Cicely Mackean, who lived in the square in Stwo-on-the-Wold. A great friend of hers Miss Christy owned a sweet shop in the town. Miss Mackean made most of the sweets for the shop for many years which included humbugs, various sorts of fudge, fondants of many flavours, chocolates, peppermints and many more. The collection came to the present owner, who until recently made sweets for family and friends.
