A c1948 Bates 'Vegrandis' Bicycle. With a 24-inch frame numbered V11830 on the bottom bracket, a sound machine that has been re-enamelled in the past in grey with Bates decals and a Westcliff on Sea insignia on the Ultavert design of headstock. Other standard features include Rigida mudguard stay eyes, Diadrant front forks, 531 tubing (?), a four-speed Sturmey Archer FM medium ratio hub gear dated 1950, Bluemels 'Popular' cream mudguards, and a Brooks competition saddle. There are several small dents on the top tube.
