A circa 1870 Vélocipède.
With an iron frame of square section form, tall steering head and half-moon section front forks, the 36-inch front wheel has 16 spokes, the 30-inch rear 14 spokes, both wheels having been built to a high standard and being firm in their axles and with no loose spokes. The saddle spring has been replaced, possibly of a thicker section than the original, a leather-covered saddle is fitted, as is a spoon brake to the rear wheel operated by a twisting 24-inch handlebar with turned wooden grips. The hock rests, pear-drop pedals and other features are to pattern.
