Lot 332
A circa 1870 Vélocipède.
With an iron frame of square section, 7-inch steering head and ellipse section front forks, the 37-inch front wheel has 16 spokes, the 32-inch rear 14 spokes. Both wheels have been painted yellow with black accent lines, but they are a little loose. The saddle spring appears original and has a leather-covered saddle fitted, as is a spoon brake to the rear wheel operated by a twisting 24-inch handlebar with turned wooden grips. The hock rests are to standard pattern. No pedals are fitted.
