A SMALL MIXED GROUP OF VESTA CASES:- An Australian silver-mounted nut vesta with engraved mounts and a dedications, c.1890, a tortoiseshell vesta with gold inlaid decoration c.1900, an Indian silver vesta case, a French silver dual-compartment vesta case, another French silver vesta case, initialled & dated "1878", a Colonial silver vesta case with rounded ends and a textured finish (probably Australian/New Zealand c.1900), a Russian silver vesta case with a simulated snakeskin finish and a chain handle, St. Petersburg c.1885 (struck also with German marks), a late 20th century silver golfing vesta case and a Victorian whistle by Thomas Johnson, London 1873; the latter 2.75" (7 cms) long; 5.75 oz weighable silver ,(9)
