A LATE CHARLES II SILVER COUNTER BOX
of cylindrical form with moulded borders, the pull-off cover engraved with a portrait of King Charles I within a border of scrolls, the sides engraved with the Royal crown above the initials "C.R", containing twenty four counters, etched with the arms and portraits of English monarchs (after Simon van de Passe), maker's mark only struck once on the base of the box, "IE" below a crown in a shield, London c.1680; 1.5" (3.8 cms) high; 3.3 oz
