COTSWOLD SCHOOL, LARGE COLLECTORS CABINET - OLIVER MOREL a wonderful walnut two section large collectors display cabinet, with 2 panel doors revealing an incredible fitted interior with drawers and compartments. The inside of the doors designed with Birds, inlaid in a variety of woods. The base section with 4 drawers and panel doors. Made in 1987. 189cms high, 187cms across *This cabinet was Morel's last large commission, using high quality timber that he had acquired over time. This cabinet comes with some letters and drawings from Morel discussing how it was made, inlaid woods for the birds (Indian Laurel, Rosewood, Blackwood, Partridge Wood, Yew, Holly etc). In a letter he states, "I am grateful for the interest and the patience that I have received in the approx 12 months of its production. The piece was an attempt to undertake a major work at least equal in scope and technique and comparable to the Rodmarton Cabinet (1972 & 1973)
