Wodehouse, Pelham Grenville. A typed letter signed to Christianna Brand, paying compliments, 'Yours is a very familiar name to me, as I am a great reader of your stories' and sharing thoughts on fellow writers, 'I loved AA's stuff. Everybody raves about Cardus, but I thought he was much better. He wrote with such humour and geniality. I can't see how anybody could read him without feling an affection for him. I shall treasure your letter.', 1pp., on headed paper, dated 'August 4. 1969'; and a typed postcard signed, 'Ever so many thanks for TOUCHDOWN. It's terrific and the sort of book one can re-read indefinitely.', undated (2)
